Silvertown Tunnel Site-Visit

Since the completion of the two main drives by the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) “Jill” in July of 2023, construction of the seven tunnel cross passages (CP) progressed to completion of the last cross passage on November 7, 2023. Four CP were constructed aided by artificial ground freezing, while groundwater depressurisation was used for two CP. Gall Zeidler Consultants were responsible for the design of all elements of the cross passages and special TBM segments. The Principals Kurt Zeidler and Vojtech Gall were on-site recently to visit the tunnels.
