The Great Lakes Tunnel Project Takes Next Step

The Canadian energy company Enbridge has selected contractors for the Great Lakes Tunnel Project in Michigan. The joint venture (JV) partnership between Barnard Construction Company, Inc. and Civil and Building North America, Inc (CBNA). will construct the Great Lakes Tunnel in the Straits of Mackinac and will link Michigan’s peninsulas, providing a secure route for Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline. Enbridge will finance the project entirely, and upon its completion, ownership and operation will transfer to the Mackinac Straits Corridor Authority (MSCA). The construction will begin following the receipt of environmental permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Gall Zeidler Consultants (GZ) is proud to be part of the JV Delivery Team providing engineering services to the JV. We would like to congratulate everyone involved in this project on taking the next step. We look forward to supporting Enbridge, MSCA, and the JV on every step of the way to the full success of the project.
