GZ will be working as a sub consultant for HNTB as an independent design verifier on the Istanbul Strait Road Crossing Project, also called the Eurasia Tunnel Project. This tunnel will connect the European and Asian sides of the city of Istanbul, Turkey and will be built in the seabed through a highly active seismic zone and under extreme water pressure. Construction is expected to be completed by 2017.
