HS2’s tunneling into Birmingham has reached the halfway point, as shown in the impressive video footage below. The video shows the underground structure of the Chilterns tunnels, the ongoing work by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) ‘Mary Ann,’ and the project status at the Bromford West Portal.

GZ as part of the Align Team, provided the design for all cross passages, the ground treatment design and are serving as a geotechnical specialist. GZ also acts as Category III checker for the Bromford tunnels and cross passages in Birmingham.
