HS2 released a series of photos from inside the South Portal Chalfont Lane pre-cast segmental lining factory in a recently published article by the Bucks Free Press. The temporary factory, located adjacent to the TBM launch pads at the south portal of the tunnels, will produce all 112,000 of the high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete segments. Start of production on the segments is a major milestone for the project that aims to start tunneling under the Chilterns later this year.
